McGill’s House of Karate and Self Defense, established in 2011, is a family-oriented martial arts school with locations in Omemee and Courtice. Ray, the founder, operates it essentially as a not-for-profit endeavor, aiming to provide affordable access to martial arts for everyone. The school emphasizes social activity, teamwork, respect, discipline, and cultivating a positive attitude.

KEM KA JU: McGill’s House of Karate teaches KEM KA JU, a unique system developed over 50 years. It combines elements from seven different martial arts styles:
- Shaolin Kempo
- Shotokan
- Kyo Ku Shin-Kai
- Shorin Ryu Karate
- Jiu-Jitsu
- Silat
- Military Close Quarter Combat

Traditional Weapons: Students at McGill’s House of Karate learn not only unarmed techniques but also how to handle traditional weapons such as the bo, kubaton, sword, and fan.

Dojo Locations and Class Schedules:
- The house Dojo is Mondays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
- Royal Canadian Legion, Omemee: Classes take place on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
